St Giles - Hooke - Youth Pages
The children enjoyed gathering a harvest that we then used to decorate the Church porch with. The food was later donated to the Lord's Larder in Yeovil.
Spring flowers in decorated jam jars for the Church at Easter time.
Enjoying the fruits of the Easter egg hunt!
One Sunday, as part of thinking about the parable of the sower, we planted our own seeds and then looked after them at home until it was Christian Aid week when we sold our (now) young plants to raise money for the charity.
Hooke Sunday School meets once a month at 10am on the 4th Sunday of the month. We welcome all children between the ages of 4 and 11; younger ones too if a parent is able to stay with them. Currently we are a group of about 10 children but in a small village like Hooke numbers can vary significantly over the years.

This year we have been looking at children in the bible. We started with the story of Abraham and his two sons Isaac and Ishmael and during the year we will be learning about Joseph, Moses and Jesus amongst others. Most months we will read and explore a Bible story, talk about it and think about what it can teach us. Sometimes we act the story out and we nearly always have a craft session relating to the story. If we have someone to help us with the music we will also sing a song.

At Christmas our Nativity play is the highlight of the Christmas Eve Crib Service (click here to see a script written by the children) and for Easter and Harvest we join in the celebrations by decorating the church porch. We also have an Easter Egg Hunt at Easter.

All children are welcome to join us. If you would like to know more then please contact Zoë Tribe.
